Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic CareChiropractors are highly trained in spinal and extremity manipulation, otherwise known as the adjustment. An adjustment involves applying a specific force in a precise direction to a joint that is not moving properly or is “locked-up”. The adjustment loosens the joint to restore proper movement to the spine, joints and supporting structures of the body to assist in faster recovery. Treatment is always within patient comfort level.

Chiropractors treat problems of the neuromusculoskeletal system. For instance, some conditions commonly treated are low back pain, neck pain, headaches, whiplash, disk herniation, wrist pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, knee pain, ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, sciatica, muscle tightness and stiffness, repetitive strain injuries, work and sports-related injuries.

Custom Orthotics

Having arch pain? Heel pain? Get your feet assessed to see how orthotics can help give you the support you need. Along with your chiropractic care, custom orthotics are effective devices to help with ankle proprioception and provides support for all three arches of the feet! Email or call to arrange your custom orthotics appointment. New patients are required to first book an initial assessment. The orthotics appointment includes the biomechanical assessment, gait analysis, and 3D foot scan by Footlevelers scanner. All documents are provided upon dispensing the orthotics for insurance purposes.

Contemporary Medical Acupuncture

Contemporary medical acupuncture is a precise peripheral nerve stimulation technique, whereby fine solid needles are inserted into neuro-reactive sites and stimulated manually or with electricity for the therapeutic purpose of modulating abnormal activity of the nervous system and/or of its associated effectors, i.e. the endocrine, exocrine and immune system. It is used for the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and visceral pain.

Muscle Release Therapy (MRT)

Animated example of Muscle Release Therapy.Muscle release technique involves lengthening a muscle in a precise direction while applying tension in focal spots. MRT is used to break up scar tissue and release adhesions surrounding fascia, muscle, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.

MRT is commonly used to treat repetitive strain injuries, sports injuries, chronic pain, headaches, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, and golfers elbow.

Athletic Taping

Athletic tape works by protecting your muscles and preventing unnecessary strain by keeping muscles and tendons firm. Athletic tape can also be used to help minimize additional damage to existing injuries, particularly on the hands, feet and wrists, where many athletes are most vulnerable.

Kinesio Taping

The KKinesio Tapinginesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while allowing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It is used to reduce pain, re-educate the neuromuscular system, enhance performance, prevent injury, and promote improved circulation and healing.

Therapeutic Exercise

Specific exercises such as stretching, strengthening as well as education on injury prevention strategies may assist in faster recovery. Therapeutic exercise combined with chiropractic care may decrease the occurrence of future episodes and improve your quality of life.

Graston Technique®

Graston TechniqueInstrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is used by clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and myofascial restrictions that hinder normal function. When tissue is placed under stress and damaged, it will heal in a haphazard pattern (scarring) that can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength and pain.

Skilled clinicians use the stainless steel instruments to comb over the area and locate fibrotic tissue. The instruments are then used to break up the scar tissue, while increasing the amount of blood flow to and from the area that allow for healing. Graston technique® has been shown to be effective in treating all acute, chronic, and post-surgical soft tissue conditions. The benefits of using IASTM are an overall decreased treatment time, and faster recovery.

Graston Technique® is commonly used to treat repetitive stress injuries, sports injuries, chronic pain, headaches, neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, golfers elbow, and sciatica.
